Health and Social care

ክንክን ማሕበራውን ጥዕናዊ ጉዳያትን

FNAN launched its weekly Drop-IN session, to assist our community to solve their day to day emerging Social and health care issues. The majority of service request in FNAN ZOOM DROP IN are social and health care issues. FNAN’s Social and health care (FSHC) team has the following capabilities from its members:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Mental Health issues,
  • Housing
  • Family Therapy,
  • Immigration issues
  • Clinical psychology,
  • Outreaching to the community

To date the FSHC team has solved numerous hard cases on mental health, domestic violence, housing, immigration, financial debt or a mix of these. Hard case because, most of the issues were multi-faceted and difficult to solve by the authorities themselves and were in dire need to be solved by a holistic and multidisciplinary way, which the FSHC team turned out to be.

In general the FSHC are involved in conducting short term intervention, safeguarding, nonjudgmental, stabilisation and psycho-education; signposting and follow ups.

About Health and Social care

Fnan launched its weekly Drop-IN session, to assist our community to solve their day to day emerging cases; to involve FNANERs to be active to help their community — FNAN ZOOM DROP IN is a permanent fixture of FNAN services.

The majority of cases solved are by Fnan’s Social and health care team (FSHC) specifically:

FNAN has lead volunteers in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mental Health issues, Housing, Family Therapy, Clinical psychology, Immigration cases,  Outreaching to the community.

The FSHC team has solved around 55 hard cases on mental health, domestic violence, housing, immigration, financial debt or a mix of these. Hard case because, most of the issues were multi-faceted and difficult to solve by the authorities themselves and were in dire need to be solved by a holistic and multidisciplinary way, which the FSHC team turned out to be.

in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and in general the FSHC are involved in conducting short term intervention, safeguarding, nonjudgmental, stabilisation and psycho-education; signposting and follow ups.

on Mental health issues giving the advocacy on behalf of clients to get admitted to hospitals, how long this process takes sometimes months sometimes days. The client’s situation could be about self-neglect, adult safeguarding; and mostly not straightforward cases, requiring help from different authorities.

Assisting our community with their housing issues; and most cases that come into fnan’s radar via drop-in are mostly day to day surgery issues, that has been tried by somebody before and that developed to becoming hard cases; and luckily the different expertise that are within the FSHC team rain-into-the-cases with a better outcomes.

FNAN provides community service on immigration and home office cases; signposting recent arrivals to law firms that have legal aid. A special concern we sees recently is the unsettling situation in Ethiopia, especially families in the UK who are worried about their relatives, loved ones that have been given a family reunion visa but are not getting the service they require in exit visa processing by the Ethiopian authorities.

The FSHC team noted the remarkable work that one of our FNANNER in (Coventry) is doing in her relentless outreach activity reach out to the community at large to seek assistance from FNAN
