Methodology
As part of our service evaluation exercise, a Google form questionnaire was sent to all mentors asking for their feedback on the work of FNAN with the message “FNAN would like to hear your views about its services. We value your feedback and comments. Please answer the questions to the best of your knowledge about FNAN. Your feedback helps us to improve our services for the community”.
This form was anonymous. Mentors were asked to feedback on the following key services that FNAN provides:
1. Mentoring
2. Zoom Drop-in on Wednesday evenings
3. Employability Workshops on Friday evenings 4. Accounting training on Monday evenings
5. Presentations from professionals
6. Seminars, Workshops and Conferences
The consultation ran for just under three weeks from 12 to 31 January 2021.
We would like to thank those who completed the evaluation form. We received 21 responses. The consultation is now closed. We will carry out a similar exercise in about 12 months time.
Summary of results
We have found some interesting and inspiring results from this consultation exercise. A range of comments and suggestions have been received in addition to the ones who suggested that FNAN carries on as usual. It is difficult to group them all into categories but the most common themes that we should focus on are:
-
Marketing and Advertising FNAN via social media to reach out to the community
-
Running teaching sessions on various subjects (IT, Tigrinya, DV, Business, Well
being)
-
Work on getting more mentees to the drop in session and other activities and
more mentoring in general
-
Introduce the use of Tigrinya in the sessions
The details of feedback are given in the following pages
Next Steps
We will use this finding to draw up an action plan. Some of the suggestions have already been implemented as they were in our pipeline.
